Weekly Announcements for 21-27 December, 2020

Monday 21 December Parade – VIRTUAL

This week will be conducted virtually. Please ensure to be logged into the google classroom ready to go for 19:00 (7PM).

We will be conducting our Christmas activity night tonight. Please ensure you have picked up your supplies and are ready to participate.

This will be our last activity before the Christmas break. We will return to virtual parades beginning on 11 January, 2021.

Christmas/Holiday Activity

For the cadets who signed up, supplies will be provided. There will be a contactless pickup point in Indian Head for the cadets to pick up their supplies for the night. — Please see the Facebook page or contact an officer to get the contactless pickup details.

Cadets who want to participate but have not already signed up are welcome to provide their own supplies and join in on our virtual activities.

If you have ideas for activities that interest you, you can still submit them! Send your ideas to 691hawk@gmail.com! Please ensure your ideas are submitted no later than the end of day Friday, 18 December, 2020.

EF Tour Trip Cancellation

Cancellations are being sent out for our EF trip planned for Europe. Captain Walton will be sending out emails to individuals who are affected with instructions on the cancellation procedure.

Level 5 Training Weekend

This weekend training weekend is for level 5 and 5+ cadets. You are required to take this training as a fifth year cadet in order to be qualified level 5. This training can be done in your 5th or 6th year.

This year the weekend will take place virtually on Jan 30 and 31 from 07:45-13:00 (7:45AM – 1:00PM).

The Level 5 Training Weekend is an excellent training and personal development opportunity. This weekend training covers many topics. Generally they have a list of topics and you select four you would like to participate in. Topics include:

  • Ethics: Making Tough Choices,
  • Corrective Action & Positive Reinforcement,
  • Dynamic Instruction,
  • Learning Environment & Classroom Management,
  • Personality & Group Dynamics,
  • Digital Responsibility,
  • Teambuilding,
  • Healthy Relationships,
  • Communication Tools,
  • Cadet Program Outline: The Big Picture

Eligibility Criteria:
– Currently enrolled in the level 5 program
– Annual validation and health questionnaire validated
– Access to you 691 Hawk gmail account

As this is being conducted virtually, you will require a computer or other device which has a stable internet connection.

Additional details will be sent to those individuals who have registered.

Virtual Training Update!

We anticipate that we will be parading virtually until at least 1 February, 2021. Please check back for updates and this may be updated at any time.

Fundraising – Car Raffle Tickets

Cadets were given raffle tickets last week. As previously mentioned, no Cadets or Officers are authorized to participate in squadron fundraising at this time. This means that the tickets must be sold by the parents this year.

This is an annual fundraiser for the Air Cadet League but our squadron does get a portion of the sales from the tickets we well.

books, unsold tickets and money are due back by 1 February, 2020. All lost/ not returned tickets must be paid for.
