Mess Dinner Signup 2024

It’s extremely important that cadets sign up for this activity. If cadets are not signed up by the end of the night on 9 December, we will assume they are unavailable and there will not be a meal prepared for them.

We also need parent volunteers to help with the Mess Dinner. Currently, we only have two parents signed up to help. You can also use the sign up link above to let us know you’re available to help with setup prior as well as serving during the evening.

Mess Dinner – Mon 16 Dec

Mess dinner is a long time military tradition where a formal meal is shared with members of a squadron. We would like to invite you to our mess dinner on Monday 16 December 2024. This will be a served formal sit down dinner with a guest speaker. This is open to cadets and officers. We will be looking for parents to serve the meal.

Dress will be C2, Mess Dress which includes your blue uniforms with a white dress shirt and bow ties.

If you have a white collared dress shirt, please wear it. If not, you can purchase one for a low cost Walmart. However, you are not required to purchase one if you do not have. Bow ties will be provided.

If you do not have a white dress shirt, you will wear C1 – Blue uniforms with the light blue dress shirt and regular tie.

As a reminder, the NCO club voted on an optional gift exchange following the formal portion of the dinner. Should you wish to participate, please bring a wrapped gift of $15 value.

Please leave your wedge and name tag at home as these are not worn at a mess dinner.

CAF Tech Talks

‘Tech Talks’ is an interactive online CAF Engagement presentation that features CAF members in their workplace. These episodes provide a general awareness of the many CAF occupations not normally seen in the popular media. Cadets can log-in from their corps/sqn, or on their own devices, for an introduction to, and interaction with, some of the many technicians that keep our ships afloat, soldiers on the ground, and aircraft in the sky.

Cadet 365 Accounts

Cadet 365 is a cadet office account that allows cadets access to Microsoft products free of charge. This includes giving them access to Teams where various communications and resources are provided.

All cadets have been issued a Cadet 365 account and credentials were provided previously for existing cadets and will be provided to all new cadets upon enrolment. All cadets need to log into and finish setting up their accounts.

Once set up, cadets also need to complete the Cyber Security Awareness course. Once your account is set up, the course can be accessed by searching the home page or via this link https://cjcr365.sharepoint.com/sites/cyber

These accounts are becoming increasingly important and it is required for multi-unit Area Directed Activities from September-June, summer camps, and other training opportunities throughout the year as online courses and communication come through this account. Cadets cannot participate in Area Directed Activities or summer training without a valid Cadet 365 account.

If you need assistance setting up your account or require your login credentials, see Capt Drew on Monday night. You can also contact the Helpdesk at 1-855-252-8082 for technical support.

Step by step procedure to complete the initial onboarding and FAQ for cadets are available on Canada.ca.
