Operation Evergreen
Update- BRING RAIN GEAR! The forecast is for rain this weekend please bring rain gear.
Operation Evergreen is mandatory annual fall field training exercise at Camp Saskadet. This is a multi squadron activity with Melville, Preeceville and Canora Squadrons.
Where is camp Saskadet ? Saskadet is located about 20 km south of Greenwater Provincial Park.

Pickup at the Memorial Hall @ 5 PM Sharp Friday Sept. 23
Drop off at the Memorial Hall @ 5 PM Sunday Sept. 25. Cadets will call parents if our arrival time has changed earlier or later.
Cadets will be given a permission slip on Monday night please bring this signed slip with you on Friday drop off.
We will be eating fresh rations and Meals Ready to Eat. Please let 2lt. Walley know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
Please pack a bag lunch for Friday evening on the bus ride as a meal will not be provided. If you wish you may bring some spending money ($5) if we stop at a gas station for a snack.
Please have the following kit list items and dress for the weather conditions. We are expecting wet weather this weekend. NO FLIP FLOPS or OPEN TOE SHOES!

Dress and Equipment
Officers – may wear CADPAT or appropriate civilian clothing.
Cadets – may wear combats or appropriate civilian clothing.
Each Squadron: compasses, Radios, GPS, Sports Equipment (Sr Cadets)

Water Bottle 1
Sleeping Bag 1
Sweater/ Sweats shirt/ Bunny Hug 1
Warm Shirts 3
T-shirts 3
Pants 3
Underwear 4
Socks (wool) 4
Parka/ Warm Jacket, hand and head wear appropriate for cold weather

Toiletries (tooth brush, toothpaste, soap, razor, etc)

Appropriate night- time sleepwear (not to be worn during the day)
Flashlight
KNIVES are only permitted for Level 5 Cadets. Any folding knife must be a locking blade.
ALL MEDS ARE TO BE HANDED TO CI Hiesler AT COMMENCEMENT OF THE EXERCISE! Medications- are to be put in a Ziploc bag, well labeled with the cadet’s name, a list of meds in the bag and the # of meds being taken

Please remind returning cadets to return! Recruit a new cadet to join the squadron. More cadets means more promotions, activities and funding from the Cadet Region.
New Cadets
All new Cadets are welcome. Youth must be 12 yrs old to join cadets. Please bring your birth certificate and provincial health card during registration. Cadets are provided a full uniform and there is no fee to join cadets.
